Radiation Health &Safety (16 CEUs/DANB Approved)
This course is designed for the working Dental Assistant with at least two years experience who is preparing for the DANB RHS examination. Participants must have basic knowledge of dental terminology and oro-facial structures. The review of radiographic concepts and techniques will include: principles of X-ray production; radiation physics; radiation biology and safety; processing techniques; processing and technique error identification; quality assurance; infection control; intra-oral and extra-oral techniques; and interpretation and mounting. Students need to purchase the text and read Chapters 1 through 6 and Chapter 10 prior to the first class.
