The psychology transfer articulation pathway is a degree option for students who want to study psychology and intend to seamlessly transfer to Central Connecticut State University, Eastern Connecticut State University, Southern Connecticut State University, Western Connecticut State University, or Charter Oak State College. Please refer to the catalog for detailed requirements, including minimum GPA requirements. This degree pathway exposes students to a variety of subjects in their general education and major requirements and provides a comprehensive foundation in psychology, including General Psychology (PSY 111); Child Development (PSY 203) OR Lifespan Development (PSY 201); Social Psychology (PSY 240) and/or Theories of Personality (PSY 243); and Abnormal Psychology (PSY 245). In addition to the required psychology classes, Tunxis offers several psychology electives that students can choose from, including Industrial and Organizational Psychology (PSY 247) and Educational Psychology (PSY 220). All students are encouraged to explore the many student clubs and organizations available at Tunxis Community College. There are several student clubs that may be of particular interest to students studying psychology, including The Healthy Minds Club; a student organization focused on mental health.
