Free tax assistance is available at Tunxis Community College in Farmington through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA) on Fridays from Jan. 28-April 8, by appointment, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in Tunxis Library. In case of inclement weather, please visit tunxis.edu, as college delays or closings will affect scheduled appointments. No services will be available Feb. 18 when the college is closed.

Offered through Human Resources Agency (HRA) of New Britain, VITA offers free tax preparation for individuals and families who earned less than $58,000 in 2021.

For the fourth year, Tunxis business students are among the IRS-certified financial volunteers on campus, helping taxpayers prepare and electronically file their state and federal income tax forms.

All information is kept strictly confidential. For appointments, visit www.hranbct.org/vita, or call HRA at 860.356.2000.

Tunxis offers more than 70 associate degrees and certificates that prepare students for transfer to four-year degrees and transition into the workforce with such programs as advanced manufacturing technology; business; data science; early childhood education; engineering; criminal justice; pathway to teaching careers; and technology. For a map of campus, see tunxis.edu/map.
