Registration for summer and fall 2021 credit courses is in progress at Tunxis Community College in Farmington. For information on how to apply and register, contact the Admissions Office at [email protected], or visit tunxis.edu/apply. There is no cost to apply.

Summer courses are offered in three five- and eight-week accelerated sessions, with start dates of June 2, June 7 and July 12. Fall semester starts Aug. 26.

Tunxis is planning to offer a larger selection of on-ground and hybrid courses this fall, in addition to online options. Student services such as tutoring will continue to be offered online as well as in person.

Students who attend other colleges can take courses at Tunxis and transfer credits to their degree in progress. Students should check with their home institution prior to registering for a course to make sure the Tunxis courses will be accepted toward their studies. Visit tunxis.edu to view credit courses online.

Registration can be completed by mail, email, fax, web or in person by appointment. Students are encouraged to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid as soon as possible. The FAFSA can be submitted online at www.fafsa.gov, and TCC’s school code is 009764. Payment plans are also available, and eligible students may be able to use veterans benefits to cover tuition.

Tunxis offers more than 70 associate degrees and certificates that prepare students for transfer to four-year degrees and transition into the workforce with such programs as advanced manufacturing technology, accelerated business administration; data science, energy management, and paralegal studies. Tunxis Transfer Ticket associate degrees provide seamless transfer and a low-cost pathway to a bachelor’s degree at the Connecticut State Universities and Charter Oak State College.

Continuing education (credit-free) registration is ongoing, for training in professions in need of skilled employees. Continuing education programs include registered medical assistant; certified nurse aide; EMT, massage therapy; phlebotomy technician certification; patient care technician; pharmacy technician; medical administrative assistant and veterinary assistant. Some programs are approved for Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) funding, and scholarships may be available for those receiving SNAP benefits or who are certified dislocated workers.
