The Delta Beta Chapter of Kappa Beta Delta (KBD) at Tunxis Community College in Farmington announced the names of those students who have accepted membership in the business honor society. They were formally recognized on December 2 at the chapter’s induction ceremony.

KBD is an international honor society for students who are enrolled in colleges that are accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP). The honor society was established to encourage and recognize scholarship and accomplishment in the pursuit and completion of studies in business, management and administration culminating in associate degree conferral. To be eligible for induction, a student must have completed 30 credit hours toward their associate degree in business administration and have attained a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 or better.

Honorary members also inducted were Tunxis President Cathryn Addy, Ph.D., and Business Administration alumni Fernando Macaro and Jason Violette.

“Our KBD members are part of a select group nationally—only 5 percent of ACBSP-accredited community colleges offer students membership for their high academic achievement in business programs,” said David Lardie, Tunxis professor of accounting and KBD faculty advisor. “Tunxis is very proud of their academic achievements.”

The Tunxis business program, which has been accredited by ACBSP since 2009, offers a business administration degree that transfers to UConn and the Connecticut State Universities, and certificates in accounting, business administration, finance, and marketing.
