Tunxis Foundation Networking Breakfast to Feature Panel of Security Experts

Tunxis Community College Foundation invites the community to “Security: Global, Cyber and You,” at its Annual Economic Breakfast and Networking Event on October 16, 7:30 a.m. at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Bristol.

The panel will discuss trending topics and field questions about the everyday threats and risks corporations and individuals face today. Cyber crime will cost the world more than $6 trillion annually by 2021, and continues to be a great threat to companies large and small, according to global cyber economy researcher Cybersecurity Ventures. The company predicts that a business will fall victim to a ransomware attack every 11 seconds by 2021.

The panel of security experts, moderated by NBC Connecticut reporter and anchor Dan Corcoran, include:

Mike Heimbach, Vice President for Global Security and Facilities at ESPN

Matt Lidestri, Associate Vice President of Information Security for COCC

Matt Kozloski, Vice President, Professional Services at Winslow Technology Group, LLC

Proceeds from the breakfast will support student scholarships and campus initiatives at Tunxis Community College in Farmington.

Sponsorship levels and program book ads are still available. Individual admission is $70 and is tax-deductible. Tickets and sponsorships must be reserved by October 4, which can be purchased online at tunxis.edu/donate, or www.tunxisfoundation.org.
