Tunxis Community College Foundation and Advisory Board, Inc. received a $50,000 donation from the Bristol Housing Authority during its annual fund-raising breakfast onNov. 12.

The donation will be used to establish five $1,000 scholarships per year for students over a 10-year period. Each recipient must be a resident of the Housing Authority of the City of Bristol and meet academic, financial and merit-based criteria.

“This is the largest lump sum scholarship gift Tunxis Community College Foundation has received to date,” said Helen Sneed, executive director of Tunxis Community College Foundation. “We are grateful to the Bristol Housing Authority for providing this life-changing opportunity to its residents who are also current or prospective Tunxis students.”
