Tunxis Community College in Farmington will hold a College Planning Conference on March 10 from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the 600 Building. Lunch will be served, and registration is required to attend.

Area high school students are welcome to tour the campus and learn more about Tunxis degree programs, financial aid and scholarships, transfer opportunities, and how to succeed in college. Faculty and Tunxis students will be available to answer questions.

Visitors will be able to choose from over a dozen workshops, including “Top 10 Things You Need to Know to Succeed in College,” “Social Media and Creating Your Personal Brand,” “Show Me the Money—Financial Aid and Scholarship Search,” “Climbing Everest,” a mountaineer professor’s thoughts on planning and accomplishing goals, and “Two Year to Four-Year Plan—Community College to a University.”

Those interested in attending should register online before March 6 at tunxis.edu/highschoolconference.

Tunxis offers over 60 associate degree and certificate programs that prepare students for transfer to bachelor’s degree programs and employment in areas with industry need, including Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, Criminal Justice, Dental Hygiene, Early Childhood Education, Engineering Science, Graphic Design, Honors Computer Science/Mathematics, and Liberal Arts and Sciences. Many programs offer seamless transfer to the CT State Universities and guaranteed admission to the University of Connecticut. The college also has transfer agreements with private colleges and universities.
