Tunxis Community College will hold an Open House on September 6 from 4:30-7 p.m. at Tunxis@Bristol, its Bristol satellite location. Light hors d’oeuvres will be served.

All are welcome to visit and learn more about upcoming Tunxis programs, meet the instructors, and network with local business and community members. Tunxis President James Lombella, Ed.D., and Bristol Mayor Ellen Zoppo-Sassu will give brief remarks.

Tunxis@Bristol first opened its doors in 2000 as a result of collaboration among the college, city of Bristol, Bristol Chamber of Commerce, and businesses which enabled Tunxis to expand educational and training opportunities and serve the community in new ways. The Bristol satellite location offers an array of programs and courses for professional development and personal enrichment, including an industry-focused advanced manufacturing curriculum designed to meet Bristol area and Connecticut manufacturers’ demand for a highly-skilled manufacturing workforce. In the last year, more than 2,000 students have received workforce education from Tunxis@Bristol, located at 430 North Main Street, Bristol.

Featured programs at the open house will include new, non-credit manufacturing courses, health careers, electrical license renewal training, and photography.
