Accounting Lab

For students taking Basic, Financial, Managerial or Intermediate Accounting.  Work independently or in groups, ask the tutor questions, and use MyAccountingLab or MyConnect software.  The Academic Success and Tutoring Center (ASTC), Room 6-109. Hours vary each semester.  Virtual advising is currently available.

Advising

Students in the Business Administration Program are strongly advised to take a lead on their academic career. First, you should develop an individual plan of study based on your long term college and career plans. This should be developed with your Business Administration Advisor – who should be a BA full time faculty member.

Business Administration Club

All students in the Business Administration program are strongly encouraged to become active members of our BA Club!  Membership is free.

Career Services

Business Administration students are encouraged to register in our online employment database, Virtual Job Shadow. To use the database you must have an email address and should also have your resume and cover letter approved by Tunxis’ Career Center prior to uploading them to the site. Employers list new positions on Virtual Job Shadow every day, as well as search the site themselves for potential candidates. Students and Alumni and also view hundred’s of video to explore experiences regarding potential careers, colleges of interest, and create a career plan.  Once you register in this database you will receive email notices about jobs and related events. Business Practicum/Business Capstone – LinkedIn Profile

All students completing their Business Administration  Degree  will either complete Businesss Practicum or Business Capstone where they will build a LinkedIn profile  to showcase your coursework, experience and extracurricular activities to create a professional brand to apply for a job or for transfer to a four year institution.

Internships/Career Resources

One of the cornerstones of our business program is the ability to get to apply your classroom education with real-world experience. We encourage all of our BA students to complete an internship or practicum in their final semester.

  • On campus 15-week courses offered during the day and/or evening
  • Fully online 15-week courses
  • Fully online 3-, 7- and 8-week accelerated courses. Take only two courses at a time and complete your certificate in 6 months or full degree in 22 months
  • Mix and match on campus, online, 15-week and accelerated to meet your learning needs!

Kappa Beta Delta Honor Society

Tunxis’ Business Administration program was awarded a local chapter of the Kappa Beta Delta (KBD) national business honor society (http://www.acbsp.org/?kbd); our chapter is known as the Delta Beta chapter. KBD is an outstanding honor for our business students with a GPA of 3.5 or greater who have earned at least 30 credits (6 credits of which have to be business related classes).
