The Scholar Program 

The SOAR@CTStateTunxis Scholars Program is an experiential learning opportunity designed to enhance key leadership, critical thinking, and networking skills.
Up to two SOAR Scholars are selected each academic year.
Selected Scholars will:
Complete a collaborative project in support of the college’s equity and inclusion work. Actively participate in the SOAR@CTStateTunxis meetings and initiatives. They will be the student voices on the SOAR team, which will be enhanced through active engagement with student activities and the college community. Through this work, the Scholars will have the opportunity to develop leadership skills while collaborating with students, faculty, staff and administration. 

The Scholarship Program
Sponsored by the Tunxis Student Government Association, a $500 scholarship will be awarded to the two selected SOAR@CTStateTunxis scholars.  

Eligibility Criteria 

    • Must be enrolled in a credit program at Tunxis Community college in the Spring and Fall 2024 semesters 
    • Minimum GPA of 2.5 
    • Successful completion of a minimum of 12 credit hours by Spring 2024 
    • Must have an interest in and availability to support the SOAR@CTStateTunxis goals of equity and inclusion. (Average commitment 2-3 hours per month, for two semesters.)

Private Scholarships

Energy Management Scholarship Application
Full scholarship – including tuition, fees, books – renewable for up to three academic years, including summer and winter classes. All classes must be taken at Tunxis Community College and be applicable to the Technology Studies: Energy Management Degree and/or Energy Management Certificate

The David Roy Kovacs Scholarship is available to students attending a community college or trade school and have graduated from a high school in New Britain in the years 2020, 2019 and 2018.APPLICATION FOR KOVACS
