Registration for summer 2022 credit courses is in progress at Tunxis Community College in Farmington. For information on how to apply and register, contact the Admissions Office at 860.773.1490, or visit tunxis.edu/apply.

Approximately 140 traditional classroom and online courses are offered in accelerated five- and eight-week sessions that run June 1-July 6,  June 6-July 27 and July 11-Aug. 11.

Students who attend other colleges may enroll in courses at Tunxis and transfer the summer credits earned to their bachelor’s degree or other program of study. Prior to registering for a course, students who plan to transfer credits should confirm with their home institution that the courses will be accepted toward their studies.

Among the summer courses Tunxis offers are: Accounting, African-American History, American Government, American Literature, Anatomy & Physiology I & II, Art Appreciation, Art History I & II, Biology, Calculus, Chemistry I & II, Computer Aided Drafting, Criminal Justice, Earth Science, Finance, French II, Geography, Macroeconomics, Meteorology, Microbiology, Microeconomics, Music History & Appreciation, Organic Chemistry I & II, Physics I & II, Programming, Psychology, Spanish I & II, Statistics, Sociology, and U.S. History I & II.

Visit www.tunxis.edu/summer to view summer credit courses online. Registration for summer credit courses can be completed by mail, email, fax, web or in person. Financial aid is available to those students who qualify, and veterans benefits can be used for summer courses.

Continuing education (credit-free) registration is ongoing, for training in professions in need of skilled employees. Continuing education programs include registered medical assistant; certified nurse aide; EMT, massage therapy; phlebotomy technician certification; patient care technician; pharmacy technician; medical administrative assistant and veterinary assistant. Some programs are approved for Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) funding, and scholarships may be available for those receiving SNAP benefits.
