Tunxis Foundation invites the community to a panel discussion on understanding “Artificial Intelligence (AI),” at its 2023 Economic Breakfast and networking event on October 31, 7:30 a.m. at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Bristol.

Proceeds from the breakfast will support student scholarships and programs at CT State Community College Tunxis in Farmington.

Moderated by CT State Tunxis professor Mark Milewski, the discussion will address how AI is applied to industry and research in Connecticut and society. The panel includes Joseph Johnson, Ph.D., A.S.A., University of Connecticut associate professor-in-residence, and director of professional education, computer science and engineering, who will define AI as it is today and what the future may bring. Burke Doar, executive vice president for TRUMPF Inc., will talk about how his company uses AI in production to ensure high quality in manufacturing for e-mobility. Frederick Varn, Ph.D., associate professor of genomic medicine research for The Jackson Laboratory, will discuss how AI is being used in medical research.

Sponsorships and tickets include a hot breakfast buffet, networking opportunities, a panel discussion followed by Q&A, and a donation to the Tunxis Student Scholarship Fund.
